Currently, as is well known, the relations between Russia and the Western world are strained. This is caused not only by economic, military and cultural interests but also different cultural and even religious traditions. These are reflected in Russian Orthodox Ethics among other things. Church historian Andreas Müller and ethicist André Munzinger tried in their seminar to point out differences and tensions between Western and Russian ethical approaches and to analyse them ethically and historically. Together with their colleague Vladimir Khulap they looked for possibilities to come to an understanding in ethics. An intensive cooperation between St Petersburg Theological Academy and the Faculty of Theology at Kiel was agreed upon.
