Master Studies “Religion and Ethics“

Here you can find comprehensive information on the new, non-denominational course of study “Religion and Ethics”, offered by the Faculty of Theology of Kiel University from the winter semester of 2015/2016.

The course of study is scheduled to take a standard period of study of four semesters and leads to a “Master of Arts” (M.A.) degree. Students will deal with religious and ethical questions and issues in their societal and cultural context. They discuss them and reflect on them from a theological perspective but also from a perspective of other subjects. The course of study is geared to (Bachelor) graduates of the subjects of Protestant, Catholic or Orthodox Religion, Islamic Theology, Religious Science, Philosophy, Cultural Science, Educational Science, Islamic Studies or Judaism, or those who have graduated in Theology. Students who graduated in other subjects (e.g. Political Science, Law or Medicine) can also enroll if they meet certain requirements (cf. section 6 of the Examination Regulations (Fachprüfungsordnung, FPO).

Professor Dr André Munzinger is the contact for this course of study. In addition, Professor Dr Hartmut Rosenau (Faculty Officer for Academic Affairs) and Maren Lutz (Head of Examination Office) are available for advice. Moreover we will shortly publish a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) here concerning the new course of study.
